Barbara Zimmer has really stepped it up on the wing and the soccer field. She is always encouraging and rarely complains about any task she is given. She works hard to make sure that people are fair to each other, which is a great trait to have on the girl’s wings. She has begun to hold standards even above what is expected, can’t wait to see what kind of leadership role she takes next.
I would like to nominate Chris Velez a.k.a. Ricky Martin for a star of the week, because on Wednesday Night Crew when he had crew morning shift With Mr. Jaye’s wing, then lunch crew with Football B, then as dinner came around the corner he was told he needed to help out Football A with dinner crew and he put his attitude to the side to be HAPPY TO DO IT. Thanks Ricky!
She’s captain of the soccer team
A senior she is too
Stepping it up during crew
Is what she tends to do
She’s nice to everyone she meets
With her attitude she can’t be beat.
Sadly she was on restriction
Thankfully she’s in remission
You probably don’t believe this is true
Caitlin Barret this one is for you!
Warren has a “happy to do it” star.
Whenever it is nightly in dorms,
This young lady doesn’t travel far.
She asks to sign out and then without a pout,
She goes around and up and down,
To wings east, north, and west
To make sure the underclassmen get their rest.
In earning her senior independence,
Jasmine Staley is the best.
Translation: Jasmine takes the initiative whether or not she is on duty, to check the names in the binder so that she can sign out for independence. I didn’t want this to go unnoticed!
I would like to nominate Mr. Walsh as a super star of the college office – he is so on top of his game for us. He writes recommendations right away and he’s always willing to offer his thoughts on seniors when we ask for them. This makes our lives so much easier and allows us to get the best package ready for each senior in a really timely manner. When Mr. Walsh is involved – we know it’s going to get done. Also, as Director of Studies, Mr. Walsh is responsible for making sure that all our students are on the right track academically to be ready for college. His partnership with the college office and his dedication to each student’s best on top of all the other things he does makes him Star of the Week. Thank you Mr. Walsh!
I think that the Women’s XC team is a Star of the Week due to their excellent attitude on and off the track. Simi always has a smile on her face and runs her hardest, Maddy and Amanda always push themselves, Catharine and Alexis just keep getting faster and faster, and of course Allie Budd is a great runner and always makes us laugh and cheers us on. Our 2 new captains, Lisa and Haruka, have been great leaders on the team. They push us to our best; leading us in stretches, running together as a team for a 5 mile run, and pushing us through our Monday thresholds. Ms. Michaels and Ms. Forgue are always running with us whether it is a silent run or we’re listening to Ms. Forgue singing “Single Ladies.” They always see the best in us.
