In the spirit of getting out of yourself and taking risks, participants in last weekend’s Family Learning Center were challenged to take on a great trust and confidence builder and easily the scariest high element on the Hyde-Woodstock Ropes Course: the Pamper Plank or Leap of Faith (also affectionately known among students as the Ball of Death). From a 40-foot height, climbers leap from a small platform and attempt to touch a large white ball attached to a pulley. The belay rope is attached at one end to the climber’s chest harness, and at the other end to an anchored pole and a trusty belay team. Congratulations to all the families that took on this challenge!

The ropes course is a terrific part of the FLC process. Kids are inspired when their parents take risks and attempt the different elements.
