Hebron 62,  Wolfpack 49

Tough Loss in James Roman Final

Posted in Boys Varsity Basketball by Sean Kelly | Comment

The men’s varsity dropped its second game of the season (62-49) despite a first stanza that featured radiant play from senior Chris Valez ‘10 and Mike Cannon ‘11, who contributed 12 and 6 points, respectively. The Wolfpack fought the Hebron squad in a see-saw hard throughout the second half, but fell short despite tough defense. Hyde forced a slew of turnovers, making 17 steals in the contest, but were unable to convert at the offensive end. The key contributors for the Wolfpack were – Mike Cannon ’10 (10 points, 5-7 FG, 5 steals), Jumah Sutton ’11 (10 points, 5 rebounds), Chris Valez ’10 (14 points, 5-9 FG), and Ewart Guinier ’10 (3 steals).

Hyde returns to action this Tuesday in nearby Putnam against Putnam Science Academy at 5pm, followed by regional power St. Andrews Thursday at 5pm, also on the road.
