Wolfpack Falters in James Roman Final

Hyde faced Hebron Academy in the finals of the James Roman tournament.  The team played well defensively in the first half shutting down the inside game of Hebron, who was a big team.  The offense, which is usually the last aspect of the game to develop, was more balanced this game.  Hebron did not let Sabrina drive as easily as she had against Bath so there was more ball distribution.  The wolfpack went in to halftime with a six point lead.  The offense stalled coming out of halftime and Hebron renewed its intensity.  Unfortunately, Hyde did not answer back and committed some unnecessary fouls on offense by being out of position for the rebound.  Hebron outscored Hyde by fifteen points in the second half.  The good aspect of this game was that the scoring was more balanced.  Margaret Ann Regnery ’10 scored eleven points.  Sabrina Padro ’10 had ten points.  Haruka Koda ’10 scored four points and played fearlessly.  Laughlynn Bragg ’12 scored three points and both Mari Barnett ’11, Becca Katz ’11, and Lexi Burke ’10 chipped in two points apiece.  Looking ahead Hyde has its first league game against St. Andrews on Saturday.
