Hyde-Woodstock faced an even tougher opponent than Pomfret on Saturday the 9th at Tabor Academy. Loomis Chaffee is known for a top notch wrestling program, and they showed the team why they were considered as such. Loomis picked apart the Wolf Pack one match at a time, many not making it into the second period. Both the lack of conditioning and discipline on the Hyde team was noticeable, and became an obstacle for success. The successive pins wore down on the teams morale which made it difficult to enter the next match with confidence. We also lost our team captain, Kevin Blanco ‘10, to a shoulder injury that will likely end his season. Jake Schuster ‘10 was a highlight of the day, going the distance with his opponent, losing a tough 4-5 match. We headed immediately into our next match against Tabor, a team equal to Loomis in ranking.
