Hyde Girls JV Basketball vs. Williams, 1/20/10
Hyde - 17
Williams - 28
Last Wednesday the Girls JV Basketball team played Williams in an afternoon game at home. With the team missing some key players, some girls were asked to bravely step into new positions, and everyone knew they needed to work their hardest. At first, Hyde had trouble sinking baskets and trailed by 9 points by the end of the first half. By the end of the game, the Lady Wolfpack had increased the intensity and ended up scoring 10 points in the second half, only 2 points less than their opponents. Sarah Hafey ‘11 did a great job stepping up to play a new position and scored 6 of the team’s 17 points. Hope Eldridge ‘11 and Laura Dosch ‘11 also scored 9 and 2 points, respectively. When the game was over, the team agreed that this experience was a marker of success, and they looked forward to seeing their first opponents of the season, St. Andrew’s, again on Saturday.
