The boys JV Basketball team traveled up to Saint Thomas More on Wednesday, hoping to continue their win streak. The Wolfpack’s offense struggled in the first half only getting 18 points, but their defense was able to keep them close to STM with the score only 18-22 at the end of the half. At the beginning of the second half the Wolfpack came out strong and tied the game up at 22 apiece, and until about five minutes left in the game, both teams exchanged baskets. Then STM went on a run and got their lead up to 10, with about three and a half minutes to go. Hyde refused to throw the towel in, and Brian Sanz ’11 got two steals and got a quick four points. With about a minute and a half to go Hyde was down by three, and Zack Cerame ’11 hit a huge three-pointer to tie the game at 42-42. Hyde took the lead with about forty seconds to go, and ended the game shooting free-throws and won 48-45.
Brian Sanz, had a game high 16 points and was a huge factor finishing the game, he was also able to stay out of foul trouble and ended only with one foul. Zack Cerame hit two big three pointers, one to tie the game, and another just for the fun of it. Overall a great comeback and win by the Wolfpack. This win shows that this JV Wolfpack is a powerhouse team in the second half and does not give up.
